raceo.us logo Amateur bicycle racing in the U.S. is broken up by Category, Age, and Gender. On the road, males start as a Category 5 or "Cat 5" and females start as "Cat 4". At first all it takes to upgrade is starting 10 races, but after that you have to finish races & start being competitive to move up. Points are award based on USAC Category Upgrade guidelines.

  • raceo.us calculates points based on USAC rules
  • raceo.us only looks at Road events - thus Cyclocross, Time Trials, or other types of events are not counted as a "race" towards upgrade.
  • If you see a result that seems inaccurate, please us by [feedback options coming soon]
  • Field sizes are estimated and & points are calculated by raceo.us, and may be inaccurate - if so please let us know.

The "race resume" table on the results page contains the following fields which are required for USAC upgrade requests:

  • Date of race
  • Name of race
  • Type of race, e.g. Criterium or Road Race
  • Category of race
  • Field size, e.g. # of riders
  • Finishing Place
  • Race length
  • Points Earned
  • Notes (not required for upgrade)
  • Link (not required for upgrade)
